The 2009 ALSC Award Winners were announced in January. The Newbery Medal went to "The Graveyard Book" written by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Dave McKean. "Nation" written by Terry Pratchett won a Printz Honor award for literary excellence in young adult literature ("Whooo!") while the audiobook narrated by Stephen Briggs was awarded an Odyssey Honor Award for Excellence in Audiobook Production.
